Impact – Psychology for Business host energising event on ‘How Businesses can be a Force for Good in the Community’

We hosted our first event in an upcoming series on ‘How Businesses can be a Force for Good in the Community’, at the unique and relaxed setting of the Great John Street Hotel, Manchester. The event saw like-minded individuals from across Greater Manchester come together to share their own experiences of how businesses can be a force for good in the community. Tamara Sutton, Business Psychologist at Impact commented, “It was great to see so many passionate business people joining us to discuss their positive drive to help communities through their businesses”.

Shelly Rubinstein, Chief Executive of Impact, shared evidence-based insights into the importance of corporate social responsibility, the benefits for businesses being involved in their communities and how to incorporate community goals into business strategies.

We were delighted to welcome special guest, Mark Adlestone OBE, Chair of Beaverbrooks and Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester. Mark, who is also the Chair of The FED, a social care organisation, described his own personal experience of how business can be a force for good in the community, passionately stating, “giving back to the community should come from the heart, rather than because it is just seen as good”. A lively Q&A discussion followed with attendees discussing how organisations from different sectors can do the right thing for the communities in which they operate and how can they do it consistently. There was a positive buzz in the room as guests enjoyed networking over afternoon tea and cake.

We are pleased to receive positive feedback on the first in a series of events, with one guest commenting, “All round great event – lovely quirky location, nice intimate room and very interesting subject matter, well presented. A great way to end the week!”

Video highlights and the details of our next dynamic event will be available very soon.
