We were approached by Brother UK, a leading world-wide electronics and manufacturing company, for help during a major period of change.
Following a period of consultation and diagnostics we developed a bespoke Senior Management Team Development Programme for Brother. This was designed to encourage the SMT to work together in the development process to build a cohesive team, define roles and examine and understand the impact of their behaviour on the organisation.
“It didn't take me long to realise what a bright person Shelly is and what value Impact could bring. The results were brilliant. I was particularly impressed with the thought, structure and ultimate delivery of the workshop she provided for me, it all contributed to the final successful outcome, which we defined in advance. Where you will benefit most, is that Shelly thinks about the bottom line in everything she does. I would have no hesitation recommending Shelly and the team at Impact.”
Phil Jones Director, Brother UK
Key to this process was setting expectations of 'acceptable performance' for the SMT, and to establish total trust, innovation and creativity.
The outcomes of the programme were incredibly positive. Evaluations showed that new techniques had been learned and applied and that the SMT had a clear vision of how to support their colleagues through the transition. This change was of enormous help with the new world post re-organisation.
We were delighted to be asked to support the SMT to provide strong and directional leadership now and in the future.
Discover moreOur team were delighted to be asked to work with a talented executive within AstraZeneca, who was identified as a high flier.
A series of bespoke coaching sessions focused on the appreciation of strengths and the identification of specific development needs and support related to leading their global team, spanning the UK, US and India. This led to further group coaching work with the whole team, which was based on individual styles and appreciation of strengths, engaging each other using positivity and most importantly, promoting the business.
“Shelly’s support and coaching has been invaluable in my professional development, both for myself and my team. Her insight into different management, leadership and behavioural styles has allowed me to develop as a manager and to better understand competing stakeholder needs in the large matrix organisation in which I operate.”
Adam McArthur Assistant General Counsel UK, AstraZeneca
As with all global companies, there was a need for the team to examine some of the tough choices that had to be made when it was not possible to do everything.
They worked on ‘’Doing more with less – and doing it better”. Issues addressed in a group setting included:
How to prioritise when making the operation more streamlined – how do they decide what to do, what is the overall strategy and the values against which the priorities will be measured?
Managing the politics – Assertive messages in a political context, how do they anticipate, influence and control? How do we take waste out of the system?
Responses from the team about the value of the work with Impact were excellent. Feedback from team members including reports of increased confidence in their abilities, greater levels of assertiveness, awareness of what they could control and increased awareness of the impact of their work on other parts of the business.
Discover moreThe Finegreen Group, a leading executive search firm, asked us to provide professional psychological consultancy, specifically in relation to psychometric assessments for high-level executive roles.
Our work together began by carrying out psychometric assessments with selected senior candidates, which consisted of Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ) and situational judgement tests. Upon completion of the assessments, our experienced team analysed the outputs and produced detailed written reports for both the candidate and client.
“Impact have been a long standing partner of the Finegreen Group. During this time we have found them to be agile and effective. They have built an understanding of our business and of our client base and this is reflected in the value that they add to our service offering.”
Neil Fineberg Chief Executive, The Finegreen Group
In addition to the written feedback, we held a number of verbal feedback sessions with Finegreen to provide expert insight and recommendations. This resulted in Finegreen having a robust and diligent executive search process and a successful outcome in their recruitment objectives.
We have been delighted to build on this initial project to work extensively with Finegreen, and develop a strong and valued partnership.
Discover moreWe were delighted to work with Quill Pinpoint, the legal accounts software and outsourced cashiering experts, to enable them to achieve their five year vision. This involved communicating the vision to all staff, recruiting a new Client Services Director and developing the Senior Leadership Team in order to shape the vision and implement the change required to achieve it.
We began the process with an event for the whole organisation to introduce the vision and enable buy-in at all levels of the business. We then worked with the Managing Director and HR team to shape the Client Services Director role and identify the key requirements in the context of the organisational vision. Once this was clarified, we worked closely together to select and assess the best person for the role.
“Shelly and her team are great at getting their heads around organisational challenges and coming up with practical workable plans for senior managers to implement. In particular, the team have helped me work through a senior management restructure, executive recruitment assessment, and my own executive coaching. Well worth the time and effort.”
Julian Bryan Managing Director, Quill PinPoint
In order to address the need for change and the formulation of a strategy to achieve the vision, we facilitated two full day workshops for the Senior Leadership Team. A range of managers from across the business came together to discuss how to implement change effectively and to agree the key milestones in achieving their desired vision for the future.
The feedback and outcomes so far have been overwhelmingly positive. The new Client Services Director is successfully in post and key to shaping the future of the organisation, alongside the Senior Leadership Team. They now have the tools and techniques to facilitate change and we have received excellent feedback that these were applied within days of the workshop, with positive effects. The Senior Leadership Team now have a clear action plan to enable them to continue to drive change and achieve business growth.
